My final environment painting. Pulled an all-nighter for this one.

week 5 cont.

Every 2 weeks we have to provide 10 pages of sketches. I needed a few more pages and at midnight, I was really starting to shut down. Then I remembered that though I really don't enjoy animating, I enjoy doin themz animashun thumbnails. It was the perfect remedy.





I was reflecting on my thumbs and realized how much Capcom has not only influenced my drawing style, but my sense of posing as well. Sometimes I wonder if I'd have been any good at say, programming if I had dedicated to it the equal amount of time I've spent at the arcade/training mode. Luckily it worked out for me... I guess it was destiny. Woah...Brain exploded.

Long live Street Fighter...Long live Capcom.

Week 5

I got a few updates from school. My first eyeballz! ROFL. I never knew you needed to paint so many textures and maps to make an eye look like an eye. You don't even look at them that closely on screen.




Eric, our design instructor, really pushes us to pump out thumbnails. The next 2 are a little more developed thumbs from my stack. My particular idea for concept is a "hacker's lair". Eric chooses 5 out of the class designs to turn into group moddeling/lighting/texturing projects. I do hope mine gets chosen since I'm already modelling a Astro City candy cab - type arcade machine(just keepin' it real) and I could easily toss that into the scene.

I like this first one cuz of the projection screen in the background but it isn't working as well as I'd like.




After discussing with Eric, we've decided that I'd follow through with this second one since it's a lot more dramatic.



I'm really glad there is some sort of drawing course in my program. They really do encourage the art side of the medium here. It's good times. More Zbrush stuff comin!

Zbrush week 2

So we've gone and created some rough geometry of a head in Maya first before taking it to Zbrush.

This is WIP... hope to finish it soon. We're learning about lighting as well... I cannot stand it.

In the middle of week 2 at school and am in love with Zbrush. Modelling is definitely my focus this year. First Zbrush assignment was to sculpt a hand.



Week 2's assignment is now a face. I'm pretty excited.

Another one before school

Was taking a break from the usual and did some paintang. As far as Naruto is concerned, I only keep up with the manga as it's 1000000 x better than the crap that is its animated counterpart. From a visual standpoint, I find that it's rare to see an IP successfully translated from manga to animation. I can only think of a few exceptions from the last few years off the top of my head... and they were all done by either Production I.G. or Studio 4C. Can anyone think of more?

It's been a while. I've been busy working on a few projects and getting ready to go back to school. Anyways it really is all that boring to talk about so here's some more artz.



I wanted to give it the same treatment I gave Sagat. I will tweak the colours again and update.

Seeing as how I haven't animated anything since college, I thought it'd be a good idea to refresh my principles and animate something fun. Here are some super ruff scenes in which I have every interest in animating. Bear with me as I haven't done a board since school either.
